At Christ College, we believe that language-learning is a great way for our pupils to gain not only a variety of transferable skills, but a sophisticated cultural awareness.
Located in a purpose-built language block, our language faculty offers our pupils access to an array of specific learning tools to support their studies, such as a dedicated French assistant to boost French learning or Chinese tutors to help our native Chinese speakers with exam techniques.
We are dedicated in offering our pupils an enhanced experience so that they can excel in their language studies and arrange annual trips to help broaden their horizon and give our pupils first-hand language experience. Exciting trips we have arranged include France and Spain for GCSE and A-Level pupils, as well as Welsh trips to Glan Llyn for KS3 pupils and local trips for those who study EAL.
One of our goals is to develop our pupils’ linguistic skills, grammar acquisition and structural manipulation and work with many educational institutes to do so, such as Routes Cymru to enhance our pupils’ independent research skills in Resistance literature on the Second World War or visiting Universities to attend thought-provoking lectures to enhance their critical thinking.
