On Thursday the 5th October, the Christ College U16’s Netball team competed in the annual South Powys County Tournament that was held at Christ College.
There were some outstanding games played by the players. W. Ransome and M. Sandhu were dominating the centre court with S. Pearson and S. Lawrence achieving 93 goals between them in the tournament. They will now play Newtown High School in the Regional Final.
On the 28th of November, Christ College entered the U19’s South Powys Netball Tournament at Brecon Leisure Centre. With only four teams competing, Christ College managed to secure two wins against Gwernyfed High School and Llandrindod Wells High School. It all came down to the final match against Crickhowell.
Crickhowell put up an amazing performance against Christ College with the half time score at 5 – 1 to Crickhowell. As the second half began, the excitement grew as Christ College came back to win the match with the final score of 7-6. M. Davies and A. Gould made terrific goals with the help of P. Lawley and H. Thomas to help on the outer circle.
Christ College U19’s team will now face Caereinion High School in the Regional Final, dates of both finals to be confirmed.
