Toms And Alaw Are Representing Christ College At The Urdd National Eisteddfod

Tomos and Alaw won 1st Prize for their Singing Duet at the Urdd County Competition and are now through to the National Finals, to be held at the Royal Welsh Showground in Builth at the end of May.

Alaw also received the 1st prize in the Under 11’s Harp solo so they both will be representing Christ College in the Brecon and Radnorshire Urdd National Eisteddfod held in the Royal Welsh showground, Builth, 28 May-2 June 2018.

Tomos will be competing in the CogUrdd/ Cooking competition on Regional level in April, as he did last year. The recipes have been developed by Beca Lynne-Pirkis, a professional cook, food writer and TV presenter, which follows a set menu with strict recipes and method for Asian Crunchy Salad and Tagliatelle Bolognese.

Tomos and Alaw have also been selected to perform in the Urdd Youth Show held on the main stage (the 1,800 seater Pavilion!) on 29 May 8pm. These shows are extremely popular and are televised by S4C.

We are very fortunate that this year, the home of the Urdd Eisteddfod will be in Brecon and Radnorshire. 28 May-2 June 2018. The Urdd Eisteddfod, is one of Europe’s largest youth touring festivals. It’s a competitive festival and around 15,000 children and young people under the age of 25 compete to a very high standard in singing, dancing and performing. It’s a real eye opener! Pop in for a day or two and just soak in the atmosphere and enjoy the extremely high standard of competition in the large pavilion.
