The Inaugural CCB Gig

The  Inaugural CCB Gig took place on Wednesday 14th June. Coordinated by James ( Yr 13) and  Nick (Yr 12) , the Neuadd was transformed into a concert venue  with 10 performances promoted on the set list . A small entry fee was charged, with all proceeds going to ‘Mary’s Meals’ charity.

The audience were treated to a range of musical genres with pupils from Alway through to Sixth Form showcasing their talents.

The Set list included :

Communion of Saints (Charlie, Tali, Rowan, James, Nick)

Coopers Troupers (Sam, Tali, James, Ben, Charlie)

Still Deliberating (Ana, Liv, Charlie, Efanna, Annika)

Alway Rock Band (Sky, Ferdi, Tilly, Vincent, Summer)

I Miss My Husband (Kurumi, Keira, Katie)

The Engine Room (Harry, Sam)

The evening was a great success and professionally hosted by James.

It is safe to say the the audience will  ‘Never Forget’ the staff band’s attempt at a cover of that Take That hit. Mrs Richards powerful rendition of Somebody to Love by Queen  rounded off a fantastic evening.

£300 was raised for the charity.

Well done to James and Nick for coordinating the event  and thank you to all the staff who helped – let’s hope it becomes a regular feature in the calendar.
