WITH SO MUCH TO CELEBRATE AT CHRIST COLLEGE THIS YEAR WITH THE 475TH ANNIVERSARY OF ITS FOUNDING AND 30TH ANNIVERSARY OF GIRLS ATTENDING THE SCHOOL, WHY DON’T YOU COME AND JOIN US FOR AN AFTERNOON OF BUBBLES, DELICIOUS PASTRIES AND FASHION.
This current academic year sees Christ College reach several milestones. Not only is it the 475th anniversary of our founding by King Henry VIII in 1541 but also 30 years since Christ College first admitted girls to the school – albeit only in the Sixth Form.
With such significant anniversaries to celebrate, the Society of Friends of Christ College, along with the Old Breconian Association and the Christ College community have decided to collaborate on a fun, enjoyable and sparkling fundraising event.
On Saturday 21st May at 2pm, in Y Neuadd Goffa – The Memorial Hall, there will be a Sequins and Sparkles Luxury Afternoon Tea and Fashion Show being held. The fashion show will be organised by Loulou Boutique and hosted by former BBC Wales News Presenter and High Sheriff of Mid Glamorgan, Mrs Jayne James. With musical interludes courtesy of Christ College pupils and a champagne afternoon tea it promises to be an enjoyable and glamorous afternoon.
The Old Breconian Association have kindly rustled up some exciting raffle prizes for the event and you may recognise some of the models too!
All funds raised will be used to help fund the main 475th Anniversary project which is an exciting Eco-Pond and wildlife area at the edge of the school’s playing fields.
The Society of Friends have been busy supporting the school and raising funds for this and other, smaller projects around the school throughout the year. They will be busy, along with Old Breconians and other members of school community helping to run this fun afternoon.
