Christ College Brecon GCSE pupils have achieved an outstanding 43% grades 8 and 9 and 62.3% of grades being 7-9. The college follows the English curriculum meaning grades are scored 1-9, with a 9 being the equivalent of an A**.
Nearly 1 in 5 pupils achieved a clean sweep of all grades 8-9 and over a quarter of pupils achieved all grades of 7 or higher, equivalent to A-A*.
In 2019, when formal examinations were last sat, 25% of pupils achieved grades 8-9 and 41% grade 7-9.
Pupils who performed particularly well include Mark Gorodkin from Staunton-on-Wye who achieved straight 9 grades. In addition, Rowan Beasley from Llandrindod Wells and Tomos Feasey from Llanfilo both achieved 9 x 9 grades and 1 x 8 grade, equivalent of all A*’s.
