The House Instrumental Competition on Friday 19 October at 7pm is primarily for pupils to attend as they will want to support their friends. Tickets are therefore not available via Ticketsource, however, if you wish to attend, please do arrive early to guarantee a seat.
Tickets for the House Singing Competition on Sunday 21 October at 7pm will go ‘live’ via Ticketsource on Monday 1 October at 9am. As in previous years, demand will be high and space is limited, so we restrict supply to 2 tickets per family, or 3 tickets if you have children in the school. There is no charge for this event, however, the Friends will be organising a retiring collection.
The Choral and Orchestral concert in Brecon Cathedral on Friday 23 November at 7pm features a performance of Zimbe! by Alexander L’Estrange and involves children from St Nicholas, the Chapel Choir and Monday night Community Choir as well as the Senior Choir from The Elms School Colwall and three Brecon Primary Schools. Alexander L’Estrange will be there himself, performing with his professional jazz band, the Call Me Al Quintet! There will also be performances from the Chamber Orchestra and a massed percussion ensemble. Tickets will be available at £10 for adults and free for U18s. Book early to avoid disappointment!
Rehearsals for the senior school production of Phantom of the Opera, directed by Lucy Richards, are now well underway. The cast have spent a week with professional West End Choreographer Evan James and are already looking impressive. A professional 22-piece band has been booked and my baton is at the ready! Tickets are to go on sale soon, so watch this space…
