Christ College Musicians Put On A Show

ON FRIDAY 25TH NOVEMBER, THE TWO CHRIST COLLEGE ORCHESTRAS CAME TOGETHER TO PERFORM WITH THE WELSH SINFONIA.

On Friday 25th November, the two Christ College orchestras combined with the Welsh Sinfonia for a memorable evening of music making under the baton of Mark Eager, the Musical Director of the Welsh Sinfonia.

The Poco Crescendo Orchestra, made up of musicians from Alway and St Nicholas Houses, performed with the Senior Crescendo Orchestra and the professional musicians from the Welsh Sinfonia, making the largest orchestra ever seen on the stage in the Neuadd.

The Senior orchestra also performed further items with the Welsh Sinfonia including the Andante & Presto from Divertimento K.136 by W A Mozart and the Toreador’s Song from “Carmen” by Bizet.

Christ College continues to work with the Welsh Sinfonia through membership of the Crescendo Project who work with selected schools to build and develop orchestral playing.
