Christ College proudly presents a Middle and Senior School production of Scrooge – The Musical by Leslie Bricusse. This amateur production of “Scrooge!” is presented by special arrangement with SAMUEL FRENCH LTD, a Concord Theatricals Company.
In 1970, renowned writer-composer-lyricist Leslie Bricusse adapted the classic Charles Dickens tale, A Christmas Carol, into the hit screen musical “Scrooge!”. The story begins on the streets of the Dickensian London on Christmas Eve where locals are gathered to celebrate the holiday season. Ebenezer Scrooge, the surviving partner of Scrooge and Marley, private merchant bankers and moneylenders, is busy inside his office. He however thinks nothing of Christmas. You will experience the classic tale of the bitter old miser Ebenezer Scrooge and the night that he was visited by the ghosts of Christmas Past, Present and Yet To Come. “Bah Humbug!” Can a host of ghosts change Ebenezer Scrooge’s mind about Christmas?
Bricusse’s enthralling score includes “I Hate People”, “I Like Life”, “December the Twenty-Fifth”, “Happiness” and his nominated Academy Award for “Thank You Very Much”.
