In an agreement with Hockey Wales we are set to open our own Hockey Development Centre (under their jurisdiction) here at Christ College on Friday evenings. All pupils in Years 4/5-11, regardless of playing ability, are welcome to attend.
Sessions will be split by age 9-12 and 13-16 and cost £3 per session (or £33 for all 11). The centre will be led by Mr Chris Marriott who is the College’s Hockey Professional.
Chris has coached senior pupils since joining the school in 2013 from Cambridge University, where he enjoyed a hugely successful 3 year tenure as Head Coach. He is a highly experienced Level 3 Coach who has worked in the English and Great Britain set ups and is also a qualified coach educator and assessor, regularly delivering courses and workshops for Great Britain Hockey. Chris leads the Hockey Wales NAGS Academy in Cardiff and is also the Head Coach at Cardiff University. Chris was the Hockey Wales Coach of the Year in 2016 and has recently been selected to join the European Hockey Federation Top Coaches Programme.
Flyers have been sent home with pupils who are 9 years or older.
