Congratulations to Ffion , Year 10, who has completed her voluntary service as Head Chorister at Brecon Cathedral and now goes on to join the Cathedral Consort.
Ffion holds a Music Award at Christ College and is studying Music at GCSE. She is currently playing in the Wind Band and singing in the Chapel Choir and is working towards ABRSM Grade 5 standard in Singing.
Ffion has enjoyed her role as Head Chorister where she has led and encouraged the Choristers and Probationers in the choir. As well as being an ambassador for the cathedral , Ffion has read at the Christmas service, sang solos and taken part in the Baroque festival and BBC Songs of Praise. As a Chorister Ffion sang with the choir during a tour of the Maltese islands, at the enthronement of the Archbishop and Bishops of Swansea and Brecon. Ffion also met and sang for the King and Queen at Brecon Cathedral during their visit in July.
Ffion has been singing at the cathedral for seven years as a member of the Junior Choir, Probationer, Chorister and Head Chorister. During this time Ffion has made lots of friends and enjoyed playing piano, saxophone and flute in the Chorister’s Concerts.
Director of Music, Jonathan Ling commented : “Well Done Ffion. Ffion is a great champion for Music at Christ College. She is currently playing a pivotal role in helping her house prepare for the annual House Music competition, which takes place this month”.
