CHRIST COLLEGE PUPIL, BEN, FROM SENNYBRIDGE HAS WON A PART IN THE YOUTH MUSICAL THEATRE’S PRODUCTION OF THE FRENZY OF SWEENEY AT BELFAST’S LYRIC THEATRE
Year 10 pupil, Ben, from Sennybridge will be heading off to Belfast’s Lyric Theatre in July to perform in the Youth Musical Theatre’s performance of The Frenzy of Sweeney (Buile Shuibhne). http://youthmusictheatreuk.org/thefrenzyofsweeney
Ben, who is studying for his GCSEs at Christ College is a keen sportsman who loves treading the boards. He’s recently starred in the school’s performance of Grease but has also had parts in many other school productions since he joined the school in Year 7. These include Wind in the Willows and Les Miserables to name but a few.
The Frenzy of Sweeney tells the history of one of Ireland’s most famour warrior kings. A vivid musical adventure as Mad Sweeney undergoes a series of purgatorial adverntures after he is cursed by a saint and turned into a bird at the Battle of Moira.
Ben will be taking his Grade 5 singing exam in a few months so exciting times await this talented young man.
