A Weekend Of Sporting Success

Christ College pupils have had a very busy sporting weekend, on top of cricket & rounders fixtures we had pupils participating in Golf, Athletics & Tetrathlon.

Year 9 Pupil Kitt, was competing at the Windsor Horse show as part of the Wales & Borders team in the Junior Pony Club Tetrathlon. The Team were 2nd over all.

Kitt came 4th individually, he had a PB in his swim and run and a clear round jumping. The team were also fortunate enough to appear in the main ring after their competition on their horses in front of the Queen and Prince Philip. Well done Wales & Borders & Kitt.

On the Athletics track Brecon Athletics Club hosted the South Wales Regional Championships.

Congratulations to Year 9 pupil Willow picking up 2 Silver Medals for East Wales.

Willow had a Personal Best in the 100m with 13.56 seconds, 28.02 seconds for 200m (though her pb for that is 27.7seconds), and another PB for 300m with 44.93seconds (previous pb was 45.85seconds).

Willow’s track times put her 7th in Wales for 300m and 10th in Wales for 200m and she is still improving. Definitely one to watch! Well done Willow!

Brothers, Jacob & James Williams also had success, with Lower Sixth pupil Jacob coming 1st in the U20 Discus for East Wales and Year 8 James 1st in the U15 Hammer. Year 8 pupil Llyr Thomas was also 1st in South/East Wales U15 Discus. Well done boys.
