RAF Cadets Take Off

As an RAF cadet at Christ College, pupils have the chance to fly with the best RAF pilots via an Air Experience Flight (AEF) at MOD St Athan.

Instructors are all current or former RAF service pilots who volunteer to pass on their knowledge and enthusiasm for flying. Cadet's are shown how the aircraft flies and given the chance to control it and experience aerobatics.

Christ College Cadets cadets have flown on previous occasions as part of the Blue Wing Aviation Training Programme and Fridays visit to RAF St Athen was the next stage in them achieving the recognised qualification in flying.

The cadets were accompanied throughout as they flew in the Grob Tutor aircraft. During the lessons the cadets undertook a series of manoeuvres and exercises, all which were carefully recorded in their logbooks on their return. All the cadets were complemented on the enthusiasm and diligence, and are looking forward to progressing in their next lessons.
