Other subjects where candidates achieved over 25% 8 or 9 included Art, Chemistry, French, History and Spanish. In Music and Photography 43% and 53% respectively were the highest performing subjects in the school for grades 9/8.

Local pupils performed particularly strongly. Leading the way were Sophie Jones and Daniel Sussmann who both achieved 9 of these elite grades. Whilst Sebastian Bailey , Peter Price and Llyr Thomas were delighted with their 8 grade 8 and 9s.

From further afield and working in their second language, Sam Kang, Amelie Gauger and Jackie Chan achieved 7 or more grade 8 or 9.

Gareth Pearson, Head, commented: "I feel very proud of all our pupils for their hard work and am grateful to our dedicated staff for continuing to positively implement this very big change to the curriculum and grading system. This is a great way to finish the year having seen successes continue across the school during the year and seeing our A level students achieve excellent results too. With 39% A*/A's in our A-level results and now 26% of all GCSE results at level 8/9 it makes me feel very proud to be a part of this school."
