|FROM 16TH-20TH JUNE LOWER SIXTH BIOLOGISTS SPENT 5 DAYS AT DALE FORT FIELD CENTRE, PEMBROKESHIRE.|
This is a unique opportunity for pupils to apply their ecological subject knowledge and put sampling techniques into practice using the vast biodiversity of the coastline and nearby salt marsh. Mornings are spent data gathering, while afternoons/evenings are set aside for statistical testing and analysis (with plenty of tea and cake breaks in-between!).
We appreciate that A level biologists need lots of support in the development of subject specific literacy and numeracy skills - this is the perfect environment to stretch and challenge our pupils. There were many highlights, including: crabbing on the Dale pontoon, surviving the muddy saltmarsh "trench of doom" and a boat trip to Skomer Island.
All A level biologists have the opportunity to study at Dale Fort.
