Christ College is delighted to announce a number of Open Events and key admissions dates throughout 2010. You and your family are invited to visit Christ College, to meet pupils and staff, and to experience a warm Christ College welcome.

However, you don't need to wait for an Open Event to arrange a visit to Christ College. To arrange your own personal visit, tour and meeting with the Head then please contact Admissions Registrar Mrs Margaret Stephens on 01874 615440 or admissions@christcollegebrecon.com.

Day stays as well as stayovers can also be arranged for prospective pupils.

Saturday 9th October - Open Morning starting at 9.30 am

Prospective pupils and their families are warmly invited to come to an Open Morning at Christ College on Saturday 9th October. An Open Morning is an ideal time to see the school in action and to learn about life at one of the UK's oldest and most successful independent boarding and day schools.

Beginning at 9.30am, the Open Morning will give you the opportunity to:

  • meet our senior management team, as well as some of our pupils, over a coffee at our reception.
  • hear about Christ College's development plan from the Head Mrs Emma Taylor during her talk which will commence at about 10.00am.
  • tour our beautiful campus with one of our current pupils who will give you their perspective on life at Christ College.
  • visit the various departments and see the academic, pastoral, sporting and extra-curricular facilities and join in some of the lessons and activities.
  • pose any questions you may have to the Heads of Departments that you will meet.
  • stay on for lunch should you wish and enjoy our fantastic school food in the unique environment of our medieval Dining Hall.
  • watch any one of of our sports fixtures that may be taking place on the immaculate school playing fields.

The whole family will be welcome to what is an informal but informative day. Should you wish to find out more, please contact ourAdmissions Registrar Mrs Margaret Stephens on 01874 615440 or admissions@christcollegebrecon.com to register your interest.

Friday 26th November

Sixth Form Information Evening starting at 6.00 pm

Prospective 6th Form pupils and their families are very welcome to join current Christ College pupils who are studying for and sitting GCSE's in 2011 and their families to a Sixth Form Information Evening. The evening is an ideal opportunity for pupils and parents to look forward to the choices and opportunities on offer in the Sixth Form, both academically and in other areas of school life.

The evening begins with a reception in the Clive Richards Room from 6.00 pm, followed by a series of short presentations in the Memorial Hall on various aspects of Sixth Form life. The Director of Studies, Mr Bush, will explain the academic options system, and there will be contributions from pupils and staff about the abundance of extracurricular and leadership opportunities available in the Sixth Form. A panel will then take questions from parents and pupils. After this, Heads of Department will be available for individual discussions about A level suitability and there will also be a chance to meet representatives of some of the organisations we work with to provide leadership challenges, such as the Tall Ships Youth Trust, the Duke of Edinburgh's Award Scheme and TYF, who run our Lower Sixth Leadership Course in Pembrokeshire.

Please contact Admissions Registrar Mrs Margaret Stephens on 01874 615440 or admissions@christcollegebrecon.com to register your interest.
