Pastoral Care

Christ College takes an active approach to pastoral care and pupil welfare. Indeed this is the foundation of all we do at the school. Our aim is to provide facilities, opportunities, and experiences that will enable all pupils to develop high standards in all personal qualities: tolerance of others, regardless of gender, race, or creed; sensitivity to other pupils and adults in a civilised community; high moral standards, and a strong sense of citizenship.

For further information on pastoral care at Christ College please click on Life in the Houses.

The Christ College Chapel
It is frequently said that at the heart of the College is the Chapel. This is not too surprising as our chapel was founded by the Dominican preaching order. For the Dominicans believed that the world in which we live, turbulent and restless, often unpredictable and yet wonderful, is at the same time the place where we encounter and listen to, and see, God.
Medical Facilities
The Sanatorium is conveniently situated in the centre of the school on the way to the Dining Hall. There is a five-bedded ward and four twin-bedded rooms, most with lovely views over the school sports' fields. It is a spacious Sanatorium, with its own kitchen facilities and dumb waiter to the main school kitchens, large day room with sofa and easy chairs for students to relax and recuperate in comfort in front of the television or video, and modern up-dated Doctor's and Sister's surgery.
The Sixth Form Centre
The Sixth Form Centre is open all day and solely for the use of the Sixth Form. Containing a common room, a games room and dance room, it is the ideal place to get away from the workload and relax! There is also a room set aside as a quiet room for School Prefects.
Food at Christ College
Christ College catering staff provide a high standard catering services for our pupils and staff as well as managing external functions. They deliver a healthy eating programme designed to offer everyone a personalised range of fresh and healthy dishes which also have reference to multi-cultural diversity of the world we live in today.
