The Lent Term started with some excellent news for the Music Department as all candidates who sat their music practical exams towards the end of last term passed. They received their certificates in a whole-school assembly on January 6th.
There were five young singers, ranging from Grade 3 to Grade 6, and the instrumentalists took exams in flute, saxophone, clarinet and drum kit. Pupils who received their Associated Board Awards were Anna John, Jonathan Robinson, Amy Bilbrough, Lowri Stephens, Francesca Murray-Shelley, Annabel Jones, Charlotte Barry, Dominic Hayes and Sophie Meinertzhagen.
Head of Music Richard West said: "This really does bode well for the future of music at Christ College, as so many pupils are displaying impressive determination, enthusiasm and musicianship. Several of the singers will be performing in 'Choirs of Christ College' at Brecon Cathedral on the 28th February when they will be joined by world-class soprano and Old Breconian Sarah-Jane Davies."
