In the Powys Athletics Track & Field Championships held on 21stst May at Penlan, Brecon, Christ College once again emerged as overall winners of the Powys Shield.
The Powys Shield was presented to Max Proctor and most of the athletes below now go on to represent the Powys Schools in the Welsh Track & Field Championships which are to be held in Cardiff on Saturday Sat 4 July.
Individual Winners:-
Junior Girls - Natalie Dowds (Hammer)
Middle Girls - Ellie Davies (3000m), Beatrice Wigmore (Javelin)
Senior Girls - Emily James (400m), Ursula Sullivan (800m and 3000m)
Jodie Stevens (Long Jump) Hannah Meinertzhagen (1500m and 1500m Steeplechase)
Junior Boys - Henry Niblett (Triple Jump), Will Bright (Hammer), Jack Jones (Javelin), Jake Brockwell (1km Walk).
Middle Boys – Will Burton (800m + 1500m), Luke James (400m Hurdles), Karl Hunt (Hammer), Ed Davidson (Javelin)
Senior Boys – Max Proctor (400m Hurdles, High Jump, Triple Jump).
Chris Rees (400m), Owen Silk (800m,) Jesse Ashby (Discus), Ben John (Javelin), Sam Joseph (1km Walk).
Sam Joseph is twice Welsh Schools Race Walk Champion and a current Welsh Intenational. Sam will be looking for a hat trick of wins and further international honours.
Christ College Results (out of 16 secondary schools in Powys):-
Year 7 Boys - 4th position; Year 7 Girls - 4th position.
Junior Boys - 3rd position; Junior Girls - 6th position.
Middle Boys - 1st position; Middle Girls – 1st position.
Senior Boys - 1st position; Senior Girls - 1st position.
Overall Boys – 1st position; Overall Girls- 1st position.
