Top class! Pupils celebrate best ever GCSE results.
Pupils at Christ College Brecon are celebrating for the second week running. After record A level results last week, the school has achieved its best ever results at GCSE. The overall A*-C pass rate at the College was 94%, with an amazing 47% of grades at A* or A level.
A Level Results 2009
Christ College pupils have achieved the best A level results ever recorded at the school. Over 75% of all grades were A or B, representing a 2% improvement on last year's results.
Grade A in Maths A Level already ... with room to spare!
Upper Sixth Former Wensong Zhang has secured a grade A in his Mathematics A Level with room to spare in that he has achieved the rare distinction of scoring full marks of 100% on all six of his modules!
Outstanding academic performance reflected in Oxbridge offers
Four pupils have received offers of places at Oxford and Cambridge this year. Joshua Games has been offered an unconditional place at Robinson College, Cambridge to read Theology. Joshua Gaskill has been offered a place at Mansfield College, Oxford to read English. Wensong Zhang a place at Pembroke College, Oxford to read Engineering and Tom Blackburn a place at Oriel College, Oxford to read Philosophy and Theology.
GCSE Results 2008 - News
There were more celebrations at Christ College Brecon today when pupils received their GCSE results. Over 89 per cent of all GCSE grades were A* – C grade, with 95 per cent of pupils achieving five or more GCSE’s at A* to C Grade. Over 80 per cent of pupils achieved five or more GCSE passes including Maths, English and Science. This represents twice the national average.
A Level Results 2008 - News
Pupils at Christ College, Brecon are celebrating A-level success with nearly a third of all candidates achieving three or more A grades. These outstanding results mean that Christ College leavers are now set to head off to a range of top universities including Warwick, Durham, Cambridge, Imperial and University College London, to study subjects from Engineering to Veterinary Science and from Theology to Law. 73 per cent of all grades were A or B, which represents a major improvement on last year’s results.
GCSE Results 2007
Christ College Brecon has another set of academic results to be proud of, following excellent A Level results. An incredible 46% of all GCSE grades were A* or A, which is a rise of 6% on last year’s grades. Over 91 per cent of all grades were A – C grade, with 95% of pupils achieving 5 or more GCSE’s at A to C Grade. Pupils performed exceptionally in the key subjects of Maths, English and the Sciences, bucking the national trend, with 90% of pupils achieving Grades A to C in these subjects, with 37% of the Maths candidates achieving an A* grade, and 61% achieving A* and A grades. However, results in Art and Photography caught the eye with 88% of grades being A* or A.
A Level Results 2007
Pupils at Christ College Brecon achieved some outstanding results in this year’s A level examinations. 63% of all grades were A or B, a marked improvement on last year’s performance. Maths, English and Science departments performed particularly strongly, with 72 % of all entries in Maths and Science graded A or B and an impressive 56% of all English candidates gaining A grades. The overall pass rate was 98.2%. Statistics are significant but it is individual performances that really impress. No fewer than 11 candidates (20%) gained three or more A grades at A level.
