Junior Curriculum

In the First and Second Form pupils follow a broad-based curriculum, studying the following subjects:

Art Geography Music
Design Technology History Physical Education
Drama Information Technology PSE
English Welsh or Spanish Religious Studies
French Mathematics Science

 

In the Third Form the following subjects are studied:

Art French Music
Biology Geography Physical Education
Chemistry History Physics
Design Technology Information Technology PSE
Drama Mathematics Religious Studies
English

 

There is also an option choice of one of the following subjects: Spanish or Latin or Welsh.

Middle School Curriculum

For GCSE all pupils study English, Maths and one of the following Science options:


a) Biology, Chemistry and Physics leading to two GCSEs in Science and Additional Science or;
b) three separate GCSEs.

 

One subject from French, Business Studies, DT
One subject from Geography, History, Spanish
One subject from Geography, History, Welsh
One subject from Art, Music, PE, Photography, RS
One Subject from Art, Drama, PE or Separate Sciences


The DT option is limited to 16 places and the Photography option is restricted to 12 places.


Latin will be taught off timetable as an additional GCSE in 2010.

 

Christ College has produced a booklet which has been is designed to help you to make informed choices about your GCSE subject choices for September 2010.

 

The booklet contains the following;

  • information on the individual subjects and the Examination Board that we follow.
  • the knowledge and skills you will develop on the courses.
  • how the course is structured.
  • what type of pupil the course will appeal to.
