Royal success' for afternoon tea party in St Nicholas

Junior pupils at St Nicholas House,Christ College Brecon, hosted a royal themed afternoon tea party on Friday 18th May to celebrate the marriage of HRH Prince Harry to Meghan Markle.

The event involved all the junior school's pupils and staff, who donned their best wedding outfits for the occasion. Party food and a wedding cake competition were to be enjoyed by all. There was even a special VIP guest in the form of Cinnamon, a one-year-old Shetland pony owned by pupil Cai Morgan Gervis. Cinnamon was on her best behaviour and was more than happy to be the royal mascot and centre of attention for the day.

The wedding cakes were beautifully decorated and Deputy Head of the school, Mr Simon Hill, found it very difficult indeed to choose a winner. Eventually, Caleb Vater's fantastic tiered design caught the judge's eye, earning him a £10 book voucher and a whisk.

Julie Lewis, Head of Juniors, said: "Helping to plan and set up the royal wedding tea party was great fun. It was fantastic seeing everyone joining in and enjoying themselves whilst sharing party food and cakes. The fine weather certainly helped, and having Cinnamon the pony was definitely the icing on the cake
