Wales Rally GB next stop for OB Sara
Old Breconian 21-year-old Sara Williams has demonstrated that she has what it takes to get to the top of the rallying world.
Old Penarthian Sevens
On Saturday 22nd May, Old Breconians participated in their first 7's tournament of the summer at the Old Penarthians Sevens Tournament.
Kelvin Redford and Andrew Jenkins Memorial Lunch
A very fine lunch was had on Friday 21st May 2010, at the Cardiff and County Club to celebrate the life and times of both Kelvin G Redford and Andrew P Jenkins.
High Sheriffs honoured by the Christ College community
Last Friday (30th April), Christ College held a celebratory dinner in honour of two Old Breconians who recently have been sworn in as High Sheriffs of Gwent and West Glamorgan respectively.
Former pupils make a welcome return for Careers Evening
Friday 23rd April saw the latest OBA Careers evening held at Christ College. It again gave the opportunity for the current Sixth Form to listen to a number of Old Breconians talking about their current careers and ‘how they got there'.
Ryan Spencer-Jones hits Commonweath qualifying distance
Former Christ College and UWIC student, Ryan Spencer-Jones, threw a new personal best and Commonwealth Games qualifying mark of 17.92m in the Shot Putt event at the UWIC Inter-University match on Sunday 7th March. The qualifying standard for Team Wales is 17.75m. Ryan has now improved his personal best from 2009 (16.79m) on three occasions indoors in 2010 – 17.32m in January, 17.57m in February and now 17.92m in March.
Congratulations to Ryan and his coach, Nigel Bevan, on this great indoor season.

OB Fundraisers
Two Old Breconians are raising funds for two cancer charities. Ben Jones (O, 96-03) and Mark Kennedy (B, 83-86) are raising funds for Cancer Research UK and Movember, which raises awareness of testicular cancer.
OBA Swansea Lunch
On Friday 30th October, Jonathan Spencer hosted a very convivial lunch for Old Breconians at Morgan's Hotel, Swansea. It was good to see that the list of attendees covered a wide range of ages and all particularly enjoyed the few words given by the Head – Emma Taylor – who had just returned from a trip to China. A former Christ College pupil has signed a professional contract with a club in the south-west of France.
Old Breconians a hit at local junior rugby tournament
Old Breconians joined rugby-loving youngsters from across Powys and South Wales as they roared into action at the inaugral Ysgol Penmaes Tag Rugby Tournament under the watchful eye of two British Lions.
