OBA Chairman with the guest speakers
Friday 23rd April saw the latest OBA Careers evening held at Christ College. It again gave the opportunity for the current Sixth Form to listen to a number of Old Breconians talking about their current careers and ‘how they got there'. Although the number of speakers was reduced by various travel problems – volcanic dust etc, the nine presenters more than made up for quantity with quality. It also gave some OBs the opportunity to return to school after many years away.

The careers ranged from Law to Banking and The Ministry to IT. The varied nature of the careers and how they reached this point was also noted but a common feature was the need to differentiate oneself from other candidates and how Christ College does that with all the extra curricular opportunities on offer to pupils during their time at school.

After the presentations, the Sixth Form had the chance to talk in more depth with the speakers. At a reception given by the OBA for the Upper Sixth, the OBA Chairman, Paul Silk, invited them to become members of the Association and stressed the advantages of doing so.

We must also thank Greg Taylor (boyfriend of Daniela Daeubler) for filling one
Phil Thomas, John Payne and Rev Huw Lervy

Polly Garnett DeW 95-98 Social Work

Rev Hugh Lervy DON 84-86 Clergy
