Kate to represent Wales in Cricket

The quality of opportunity has been taken a stage further at Christ College with the recognition of the school’s latest sporting International.  Kate Davies, a GCSE pupil from Brecon, has become the first girl from Christ College selected for Wales at Cricket.  Throughout Kate’s time at Christ College she has always been a member of the boys Cricket Team and currently plays for the school 2nd XI.  Kate was chosen to represent the Welsh Women’s Cricket Association U17 Team recently and played against Sussex and in another friendly at Bristol.  In both matches rain prevented Kate showing her prowess with the bat, but against Sussex took a wicket, a catch and had a run out and afterwards was presented with the Match Ball for being the Woman of the Match.  In the next game Kate took 3 wickets for 4 runs off 9 overs.

Kate’s International role now means that the school has 3 International Cricketers at Under 12, Under 14 as well as Kate.
