|In Years J3 and J4, the class teacher plays a central role in our pupils' daily routine.
The wide range of curriculum subjects offered continues to be expanded upon with specialist teaching in Music and Games.
More formal assessments are introduced and pupils' work will be monitored and reported to parents through regular reports as well as Parent/Teacher Consultation Evenings. Pupils are taught in mixed ability classes although small class sizes will mean that your child will enjoy and benefit from exceptional levels of individual care and attention.
Homework is more subject-based with the continuing expectation that pupils read each night. Pupils will receive a homework task every day, which ought to take no more than 30 minutes to complete.
Pupils in Years J3 and J4 are provided with many opportunities to develop self-confidence and enrich their personal experience and learning opportunities through a varied programme of Performing Arts.
Your child will be introduced to a variety of musical instruments. For instance, J3 and J4 pupils enjoy a weekly strings session with specialist music tutors (cello and violin). Weekly specialist music tuition includes tuned and untuned percussion. Pupils can also join the St Nicholas House choir too!
In addition, individual instrumental tuition from a team of talented visiting music teachers can be arranged.
