This is a great time to be involved in what is arguably Christ College’s most successful sport at the moment.

Led by Dr Dominic Phelps and our Professional Hockey Coach, Chris Marriott, Christ College's recent tradition of high achievement in Hockey is set to continue in the future. CCB regularly fields teams in all age groups in both Girls' and Boys' Hockey in the Michaelmas and Lent terms respectively, with a highly competitive fixture list against some of the best schools in Wales and the border counties.

Both Girls' and Boys' teams have achieved considerable success over the last five years; in April 2014 the Boys' U18s, U16s and our Mixed U12s all won their respective Welsh National championship;  In 2015 Boys' U18s and U16s  retained that title, and in 2016 U18's and U12's  are Regional Champions, County Champions and National Champions.

Our U14, U16 and U18 Girls are currently reigning as Powys Regional champions (U18’s 6 years in a row)  with the U18’s this year making their sixth consecutive National final  and U16’s their 3rd consecutive National final.   14 Girls are currently in Hockey Wales 360 Talent Development programme at CCB.    The Start of the 2016/17 season has seen the U16s & U18's  retain their South Powys titles.

Many of our strongest players have also gone on to regional and Welsh national representation.    In 2016 we had 6 players in the Wales U18s/U16's squad  along with our very own Level 3 England Hockey accredited coach Mr Chris Marriott.

7 years – 45 county, regional and national hockey titles.

In September 2014 Christ College announced a new partnership with Hockey Wales to develop a new Talented Player Development centre to be at the school.  This partnership continues to flourish with an ever increasing number of players from local schools and clubs attending weekly sessions with Hockey Wales talent development coaching staff where they receive high quality on pitch coaching and off pitch athlete education and lifestyle support.

"The atmosphere is like any good club - tough sport, great social!"
