The Library The Kendrick Edwards Library is centrally accommodated in one of the main school buildings. Originally 'Big School', where the whole school took 'Prep', the room has undergone a number of changes over the years and was fully refurbished in 1995. A mezzanine gallery was added to extend the floor space and provide space for multiple IT stations making an attractive and comfortable modern working area within the historic building. Currently
the library comprises 4,000 volumes of non-fiction
books, ranging from junior reference books to
supplementary reading for AS/ A level and from early
19th Century classical volumes to contemporary
biographies. A selection of periodicals and daily
newspapers allows for more relaxed reading. The book
stock is growing all the time, and includes a number
of gifts by former pupils and staff of the school.
The Library is on open access, enabling pupils to
make use of the quiet working space at any time
during the school day and in the evening.Back to main academic page |
